Hey friends! Lately, there’s been a buzz around three major rumors about the board exams, and I know many of you are both excited and maybe a little distracted. Let’s dive in and separate fact from fiction, plus I’ll share my tips for achieving 95+ in just three months!
Rumor 1: Syllabus Reduction
Word on the street is there’s a 15-mark reduction across all subjects. Logically, if this were true, it would have happened already. Pre-boards have started in many schools, covering almost the entire syllabus. CBSE would have announced this before the half-yearly exams. Trust me, the chance of a syllabus reduction is zero. Even CBSE has officially debunked this as fake news.
Rumor 2: Increased Internal Assessment
Another rumor suggests internal assessment marks have increased from 20 to 40. While this might be a future possibility, aligning with CBSE’s focus on conceptual understanding, there’s no official confirmation for this year. Don’t get your hopes up just yet!
Rumor 3: Open Book Exams
The final rumor whispers about open book exams for some subjects. While open book exams are being discussed, there’s no official update on implementation. With the academic year almost over, this is highly unlikely for this year’s exams. These changes might apply to the next batch or even the current 10th graders when they reach 12th, but not for you guys right now.
Don’t believe everything you see online! Stick with reliable sources (like this website!), and wait for official announcements. I almost didn’t make this video, but seeing so many students getting stressed and distracted, I knew I had to clear the air.

Effective Note-Taking: Create concise notes for every chapter using concept maps and bullet points. This helps with understanding and memory retention, and writing point-wise in the exam can earn you full marks.
